Is it legal to post pics on my website of cakes I haven’t personally made but could if they were requested?

I run a cake company and have an album full of my work. Quite often I have customers come to me with pictures they found on the internet, in magazines, etc. asking me to basically copy the design, using my ingredients and flavors. I’m always capable of fulfilling the task and produce very nice results. I am building a website and I am using photos of cakes I’ve made, but I notice that the ones I have pictures for are somewhat traditional. I’m capable of making modern cakes as seen in the current magazines and online sources, but I just haven’t had them requested yet or haven’t had pictures provided of the ones I did make. So is it legal or ok for me to post pictures of cakes I CAN make but that, in the actual picture, have been made my someone else?

I am in to photography and looking at a career in photography. The only legal way to post these pictures is if you took the pictures or if you bought the pictures with the right ( which you might be able to do from a stock photography site). I hope this helps.
